Overview
ClassTrack ("we", "us") is a student productivity app for attendance, timetables, exams, grades and study tools. We believe your data is yours. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details — your email address and, for password sign-in, an encrypted password.
- Your study data — subjects, class schedules, attendance marks, exams, grades, tasks, notes, habits and expenses you enter.
- Messages — anything you send us through support or the AI assistant.
- Google Calendar data (optional, read-only) — if you choose to connect your Google account, ClassTrack reads your Google Calendar events so you can import them into the app. We request read-only access only — ClassTrack never creates, edits or deletes anything in your Google Calendar. This connection is entirely optional and only happens after you explicitly grant permission.
Information collected automatically
- Device & usage data — app version, device type, crash logs and basic analytics used to keep the app working well.
- Subscription status — whether you have an active Pro plan (managed via the app stores / RevenueCat).
2. How we use your information
- To provide core features — syncing your subjects, attendance and grades across your devices.
- To send reminders and notifications you enable (classes, tasks, exams, habits).
- To power the AI study assistant when you use it.
- To import events from your Google Calendar (read-only) when you connect it, so you can bring your existing schedule into ClassTrack.
- To process subscriptions and prevent abuse.
- To improve reliability and fix bugs.
We do not sell your personal data, we do not share your data with any third party for their own purposes, and we do not share your Google Calendar data with anyone.
3. AI features & photo import
When you use the AI assistant — including importing a timetable from a photo — the text or image you submit is sent to our AI provider (such as Google Gemini) to generate a response. Only send content you're comfortable sharing for this purpose. We use these features to build your schedule and give study tips, not to identify you.
4. Google Calendar integration (read-only import)
ClassTrack offers an optional, read-only integration with Google Calendar. If you choose to connect your Google account, we request read-only access so we can read your existing calendar events and let you import them into ClassTrack. ClassTrack does not create, modify or delete any events in your Google Calendar. You can disconnect at any time from within the app or by revoking access in your Google Account permissions.
How we handle your Google Calendar data:
- We request read-only access only, and use it solely to let you import your calendar into ClassTrack.
- We do not sell your Google Calendar data.
- We do not share, transfer or disclose your Google Calendar data to any third party, except as strictly necessary to provide the import feature to you, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a security investigation.
- We do not use your Google Calendar data for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read it unless you give explicit consent, it is required for security or to comply with the law, or the data has been aggregated and anonymized.
ClassTrack's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with any third party for their own marketing or purposes. The only parties that process your data are trusted service providers (sub-processors) that operate strictly on our behalf, under agreements that protect your information and permit them to use it only to provide their service to ClassTrack:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database and hosting.
- AI provider (e.g. Google Gemini) — to process AI requests you initiate.
- RevenueCat & the app stores — to manage subscriptions and payments.
- Web3Forms — to deliver messages you send from our support form.
Your Google Calendar data is never shared with any of these providers or any other third party. We may disclose information only if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
6. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a subject or your account, the associated data (including schedules and attendance) is removed from our active systems, subject to reasonable backup and legal-retention periods.
7. Your rights & choices
- Access & export — view and export your data from within the app.
- Correct & delete — edit your entries or delete your account at any time.
- Notifications — turn reminders on or off in Settings.
- Regional rights — depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR/CCPA), you may have additional rights; contact us to exercise them.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, secure authentication and access controls — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work hard to safeguard your information.
9. Children
ClassTrack is intended for students aged 13 and older (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We don't knowingly collect data from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email, and we'll update the date at the top.
