The SGPA to CGPA formula
CGPA is the credit-weighted average of your semester SGPAs:
CGPA = (SGPA₁×C₁ + SGPA₂×C₂ + … + SGPAₙ×Cₙ) ÷ (C₁ + C₂ + … + Cₙ)
Here C is the number of credits in each semester. When every semester has the same credits, the formula simplifies to the plain average:
CGPA = (SGPA₁ + SGPA₂ + … + SGPAₙ) ÷ n
Worked example
Suppose you have completed four semesters, each worth the same credits:
